Jack Gescheidt, a professional photographer since 1988, was born and raised in and around the wilds of New York City by two professional photographer parents, Rae Russell and Alfred Gescheidt.

His photography has appeared in numerous national magazines, books, calendars, posters, greeting cards and advertising. The TreeSpirit Project, begun in 2003, is Jack's first fine art endeavor. It combines his lifelong passions for nature, people, his photographic heritage, and continuing support of organizations that preserve greenspace and wilderness.

It also draws upon some of his most powerful childhood memories of time spent in the country: playing in streams and ponds, racing through fields, running in the downpour of thunderstorms, and of course climbing trees.

Now 47, he lives in Marin county, CA.
